Philosophy Club
The club promotes the study of philosophy among NKU students by providing a philosophical forum for discussion and debate of general issues. We strive to give students a relaxed atmosphere in which to express and discuss their views on anything related to the realm of philosophy. Membership is open to full-time or part time students interested in contributing to the club by paying dues and/or donating their time and services. Ethics Bowl
The NKU philosophy program sponsors teams that compete in the Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl (IEB).
Regional ethics bowls will take place during the fall. The top scoring 32 teams in the regional bowls are invited to take part in the IEB National Championship Competition.
In IEB competition, a moderator poses questions to teams of three to five students. Questions may concern ethical problems on wide ranging topics. Each team receives a set of ethical issues in advance of the competition and questions posed to teams at the competition are taken from that set. A panel of judges evaluates answers based on intelligibility, focus on ethically relevant considerations, avoidance of ethical irrelevance and deliberative thoughtfulness.
